Professor Brenda Gannon is a Professor in the School of Economics, Director of Research, and Affiliate Professor at the Centre for the Business and Economics of Health, The University of Queensland. Professor Gannon is an international expert in the field of Health Economics and collaborates within economics, medicine and social science from academia and industry. She has developed a range of projects health care utilization, and awarded funding from NHMRC and ARC and EU Commission, and is lead of the health economics theme within the NHMRC Centre for Research Excellence, Women and Noncommunicable Diseases. Her work has been influential in the development of health interventions and informing policy and has positively impacted on the health of many people across the world. She is an award winning higher degree by research supervisor at University of Queensland and renowned internationally for mentoring junior researchers. She has served on the Australian Government Medical Services Advisory Committee and has being an invited speaker to the US National Academy of Medicine.
